printmaking, mixed media and book art
I have always loved to make things starting with doll clothes, then my own clothes. As a young adult I dabbled in ceramics, quilting, weaving, surface design and decorative painting. Making "art", and developing a commitment to the practice, started more recently, and began with a "what if" question in mid-life. What if it was possible for me to learn to draw?
I started with Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, and then took a continuing education drawing class. I was hooked!
My current practice includes printmaking, mixed media collage, and some book making. Printmaking was my first art obsession and I'm just returning to it after several years.
With all media, I love the dance that is the creative process, the exchange among an idea, the media, my hand - how they continually change each other.
